Differences

I know I look at things differently. For the most part, I’m a pretty happy-go-lucky, glass half full, lemons to lemonade girl. But I don’t wear rose-colored glasses.

I grew up with a sister who is two and a half years younger than I am. It was obvious to me that even though we grew up on the same house, we were different. We do have quite a bit alike but our experiences allow us some differences not only in thoughts but also actions. I like this. Actually, I love it.

That’s why I love the differences in other people as well. I love learning about their different experiences, cultures, beliefs, etc. It’s what makes us all unique.

So why is it that so many people act as if we all should have the same, want the same, do the same, think the same? Yikes! Talk about B-O-R-I-N-G.

When do we celebrate our differences? It’s beginning to seem for some people “out there” that if you aren’t on board with them, you are out of luck. Funny, but I see that they are still persuading. Maybe they should just give up and be happy that they are different?
