Rethinking “Regret”

Recently I started looking at regret. More importantly, it was dissecting the question

“Is there anything you regret?”

Here’s my story: After going through a 3 year separation and finally a divorce from my now ex-husband, I started to have regrets: about marrying him in the first place, moving, changing jobs, getting rid of furniture that was mine to buy new stuff that was ours, etc. After awhile I realized that by marrying him it created some wonderful outcomes:

  • I moved to a different county and able to experience it.
  • I have met some amazing people that I now call my close and dear friends.
  • I have learned and experienced new areas tied to my career.
  • I have adopted new beliefs around alternative therapies that I continue to practice and find balance in honoring.
  • And so much more…
never regret
